Do you cover my area?
Short answer: Bristol and the towns around it. Here's the honest version — where I'm based, how far I go, and what to do if you're on the edge of it.
Where I'm based
I'm Darren, and I work out of Stockwood in south Bristol (BS14). That's the middle of the patch rather than the edge of it, so the south of the city — Knowle, Brislington, Hengrove, Whitchurch and out towards Keynsham — is home ground. If you're there, I'm probably on your street most weeks already.
It's just me doing the work, not a rota of subcontractors. That's the thing that actually decides how far I can travel: every mile out is a mile back, and I'd rather cover a sensible patch properly than spread thin and start letting people down.
How far I go
Think of it as three rings rather than a hard border.
South Bristol — home patch
Stockwood, Knowle, Brislington and the streets around them (BS4, BS14). I'm here constantly, so I can usually fit a new job in quickly and come back on a tight cycle.
Across the city
Bedminster, Southville, Clifton, Redland, Bishopston, Horfield, Henleaze, Westbury-on-Trym, Fishponds and the rest of Bristol. Regular rounds all over the city, north and south of the river.
The towns just outside
Keynsham, Nailsea, Portishead and Bradley Stoke. I cover these on set days rather than any day, so there can be a little more waiting for a first visit — but the price is the same as anywhere else.
How the round works
Most people are on a four or eight-weekly round. Once you're on it you don't have to think about it — I come back on the same cycle and send a message beforehand so you know I'm coming and can leave the side gate unlocked. No need to be home, and no need to book each time.
Gutter clearing, fascias, conservatory roofs and pressure washing are usually one-off jobs rather than a round, and I'll fit those in around the regular work. Payment is cash on the day or an easy standing order — no contract, and you can stop any time.
If you're on the edge of it
Just ask. Rounds aren't drawn with a compass — what really matters is whether you're near somewhere I already go, and a street that looks out of the way on a map is often five minutes from an existing job. If it genuinely doesn't work, I'll say so rather than quote a price I can't stick to.

- If you're in Bristol, almost certainly. If you're in one of the towns just outside — Keynsham, Nailsea, Portishead, Bradley Stoke — then yes, though I'm there on set days rather than any day. - Not usually. As long as I can reach the back — through a side gate, for instance — you can leave me to it. You'll get a message before I come so you know I'm on my way and can unlock the gate.
- No. The price is based on the property, not the postcode. If somewhere is too far to be worth the trip I'd rather say so up front than add a travel charge to cover it.
